This post may not exactly fall under the purview of this blog, since it concerns national issues and not local. However, since (at least the last time I checked) the California Republic was still in the Union, and has not (yet) split into two separate states (NoCal and SoCal), and Los Angeles, on account of not having fallen into the Pacific after a cataclysmic rupture on the San Andreas fault, still resides in said Republic, I think we can stretch it this once. Or twice. Ah, hell, who am I kidding? I've gone to the political well and drawn a cool drink of predictably left-leaning punditry more than once.
